SPONSOR A RESIDENT

Becoming a sponsor is one of the simplest ways to help support the animals who call Wildwood Ranch home. The Sponsor a Resident program is a community of compassionate supporters whose one-time or monthly commitment provides the necessary resources to care for a rescued farm animal. As a Resident Sponsor, you will receive updates featuring your chosen animal friend and get to see how your donation directly effects their lives through toys, treats, supplies, feedings and tailored enrichment activities!

Red

Bourbon Red Turkey Hen

When Red came to us she was in danger of being eaten, thankfully we were able to give her sanctuary when she was less than one year old. Today Red is nearly 7 years old! She is a gentle old lady who loves being hugged, picked up, and held. Her hobbies include scavenging for treats, calling out for attention, and telling her friends what to do.

Red's Favorite Things:

Chasing Bugs & Exploring

Lettuce, Grass & Anything Shiny

Hugs, Hugs & More Hugs!

Charlotte

Speckled Sussex Hen

Charlotte came to us with nine other hens who were all intended to have been used for egg production. She and her nine siblings are all safe, loved and about to celebrate their 1st birthdays! Charlotte is named after the infamous Charlotte Hale from Westworld. She is an absolute boss, but luckily our Charlotte is much sweeter, loves people and is a terrific friend.

Charlotte's Favorite Things:

Sunbathing

Being Pet & Held

Sunflower Seeds & Lettuce!

Old Luke

While he still has yet to completely get over his past traumas, Old Luke has really come into his own as one of the leaders of the chicken enclosure here at the sanctuary. His determination to protect everyone is precisely what makes him a hero in our eyes and the eyes of all of his new friends.

Old Luke's Favorite Things:

Misty

Molly Mule

When Misty came to us she was covered in scars, rain rot, sores, and had a severe hoof condition which caused her to limp. When she had her first vet check we found out that she was much older than we had presumed, and although it is unclear what exactly Misty has been through in life since being rescued her bright and bubbly personality has always shined through! She is such a brave and smart mule who is finally healthy thanks to amazing farriers, vets, and our team at Meghan Had A Little Lamb. She now enjoys her days galloping around with her best friend Beaudelaire and is well into her twenties with the attitude and spunk of a 10 year old!

Misty's Favorite Things:

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Playing with new Toys

Walt

Walt was rescued in the winter of 2022 from Slaughter. He was sick in a holding pen, being 'fattened up' for shipping to Canada, screamed at, forced through chutes, terrified and standing in the cold with countless other horses awaiting a terrible fate. We saw this old boy and knew we had to do whatever we could to get him out of there. Thankfully with the help of amazing donors like you we were able to step in and rescue him! After we rescued him he was quarantined, has had all of his shots, gotten his toes taken care of, and has had proper medical care to help him on his journey to health. He is now opening up to us, whinnying to us, asking to be pet and groomed, and absolutely loving his new feeding regimen, warm mash and plenty of hay three times a day!

Lewis was rescued in 2020 along with her 6 dog siblings, and a pot bellied pig after her previous human tragically passed away leaving them alone in the world. Luckily some amazing people stepped up and now Lewis' entire family have since found amazing forever homes! She is now the main supervisor here at Meghan Had A Little Lamb and there isn't a single thing that will get past Lewis. She particularly enjoys checking to see if the other residents have eaten all of their lunch, as well as saying hello to her Turkey friend Red & Cat friend Petey!

He enjoys life mostly lounging indoors but still has supervised roams of the acerage when he's feeling like it to visit with the other residents and spend some time in the sun.
